C&C Event
The mission of the Menahga Civic & Commerce Association is
to bring people together to promote and encourage each other to make our community a welcoming place to live, work, shop and play through happenings in our area.
Our fishing derby happens every January on Spirit Lake in Menahga. We raffle off a fish house, gift attendance prizes, and play lots of fun games! Oh yeah - and we give prizes for fish caught on this fun day!
Americanized Finlanders in northern Minnesota created the legend of St. Urho (trying to best the worldwide legend of St. Patrick) who saved the Finnish grape crop by chasing grasshoppers out of Finland. St. Urho's Day is March 16th, and Menahga celebrates on the weekend closest to this date. Come by and take your picture with the statute of St. Urho located right alongside US Hwy 71 on the south side of Menahga.
The Menahga City-Wide Garage Sale happens every May, usually the same weekend as the Minnesota Fishing Opener.
We celebrate the middle of summer with a community event. During July, usually the weekend after the 4th, we come together for a parade, craft show, pageant, run and other fun!
Take the kids downtown to visit with Santa, get presents and a treat bag, and ride a horse-drawn wagon. We bring Santa to town early in December.
The Menahga Civic & Commerce Association is made up of local volunteer business owners, managers, group and church leaders and citizens concerned about Menahga’s growth and positive development. The Menahga C&C sponsors five events during the year. All are eagerly anticipated and centered on family fun.
