Midsummer comes to an end so let’s give a hardy thank you to all who worked on this event. Our gracious 2021 Royalty agreed to represent Menahga for 2022 when we had to cancel this year’s pageant. Thank You.
What a joy to call the winners after the drawing. The Polaris winner thought it was a crank call. “Surprise”
Good news, we sold all our tickets even when we ordered more this year. Thanks for supporting Midsummer.
A Clean Plate reported that the St Urho Run went well and numbers were up this year. Nice to see all the participants. I felt like I run the race, even if I didn’t. I dare bet all the volunteers are feeling that way also.
The Kids Fishing Derby had 76 kids 2-12 enter. There was a 3-way tie for most fish caught. No worries though, since Menahga VFW Post 6206 gave prizes to cover every one.
Arts and Crafts were at the Lake this year. There were lots of people around. The Park Rapids Ski Team made their 1st appearance this year, and everyone seemed to appreciate them.
Parade lineup started shortly before 6:00. We shuffled entries however, we could but still a few managed to get out of order.
Fireworks were spectacular this year. Did you hear the applause? Thanks again to the firework sponsors, APQ Engineering, RDO, Omega Hardwood, West Central Telephone Association, TruStar Federal Credit Union.
Sunday brought weather. Church had to move inside. Music set up on the stage but wind and rain chased them inside the church as well. We hope the churches and clubs did well, the community needs everyone's help. Consider joining the C&C, we need more volunteers.
